Instruction Manual Lithium Ion Batteries

Read this and the instruction of your camera before use.

Charging The Battery

  • The battery must be charged before use.
  • Use only chargers specifically designed for lithium ion batteries.
  • Best charging results will be achieved at temperatures between 10° to 25°C. Lower or higher temperatures can prevent complete charging.
  • A slight increase in battery temperature during use and charging is normal.

How to store the battery

If the battery pack is not being used for a long period of time, fully charge the battery and then fully use it up in your electronic device before storage and repeat this procedure once per year to maintain optimum battery lifetime. Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Exposure to high temperatures can shorten the battery’s lifetime.

Battery lifetime

The lifetime of a rechargeable battery is limited. The capacity will drop progressively with use and age of battery pack. Replace the battery pack when available battery time is shortened noticeably. The battery lifetime can vary substantially depending on storage, operating conditions, the charger used and exposure to unsuitable environmental conditions.

CAUTIONS

  • Do not expose battery to excessive temperatures (below 0°C or above 40°C or in strong direct sunlight.
  • Do not leave battery in the trunk or on the dashboard of a vehicle. Over heating can result in leaking, fire or explosion.
  • Battery temperature, while on charge or in use should never increase above 60°C/140°F. If higher temperatures occur, discontinue using and stop charging immediately.
  • Do not store products in wet or humid locations.
  • Do not store battery connected to a charger.
  • Do not short circuit battery + and – contacts.
  • Do not store battery with metal objects. Keep battery contacts insulated when in storage or transportation (use the plastic cap if available).
  • Do not throw battery in fire.
  • Dispose of depleted batteries in accordance with appropriate local regulations.
  • Do not connect battery in reverse polarity.
  • Do not subject battery to strong impacts or continuous mechanical shocks.
  • Do not solder onto any of the battery contacts.
  • Do not dismantle or modify the battery. Contents of an open battery (electrolyte) can cause skin or eye irritation and/or respiratory irritation. In the case of any such irritation seek immediate medical attention.
  • Do not place battery in microwave, cooker or high-pressure container.
  • Do not swallow battery. If swallowed seek immediate medical attention.
  • Keep batteries out of reach of children.
  • Use only the designated charger (either Hahnel or OEM) to recharge the battery.
